AIR PREHEATERS
Regenerative Air Preheaters are mainly used in fossil fuel steam power plants to improve boiler efficiency. Therefore, the combustion air is heated up by the thermal energy of the flue gas, thus enhancing the combustion process. Balcke-Dürr is in a position to offer Regenerative Air Preheaters with rotating Ljungström-type as well as stationary Rothemühle-type heat storage medium. In the air preheater, the flue gas and the combustion air are led in counterflow through a matrix of heating elements. These heating elements continuously absorb and release heat by convection.

GAS-GAS-HEATERS
Regenerative Gas-Gas Heaters are mainly used in flue gas desulfurization plants and low dust SCR systems to utilize the waste heat of the flue gas. Balcke-Dürr is in a position to offer Gas-Gas Heaters with rotating Ljungström-type or stationary Rothemühle-type heat storage medium.
Inside the gas-Gas Heater, raw gas and clean gas are led in counterflow through a matrix of heating elements. These heating elements continuously absorb and release heat by convection.

LUGAT® COMPACT HEAT EXCHANGERS
Significant energy savings can be achieved by using LUGAT Compact Heat Exchangers to preheat the combustion airs for steam boilers with capacities of 3 to 350 t/h and industrial furnaces. The LUGAT Compact Heat Exchanger is a Ljungström Type Air Preheater that can be delivered in vertical or horizontal design.
