Technology Innovation
On the coal-to-chemicals front, Wison Engineering started strategic planning for core technology development in 2004. The Company owns core technologies along the modern coal-to-chemical production chain covering coal gasification, coal purification, coal-based olefin, coal-based glycol, coal-based ethanol and coal-based natural gas to coal-based oil, and is the engineering company that owns the largest number of proprietary coal-to-chemical technologies in China. The successful commercialization of new coal-to-chemical technologies by the Company has laid a foundation for exploring the massive China market and coal-rich areas in Southeast Asia.
Coal-to-Chemicals
We own a significant number of patented new coal-to-chemical technologies in methanol, DME, MTO and other areas, and partner with renowned domestic and overseas enterprises and academic institutions to develop modern coal-to-chemical packaged technologies such as large scale pulverized coal gasification, coal-to-gas and coal-to-ethylene glycol. We provide a one-stop service that encompasses the transfer of proprietary technologies and the design and construction of coal-to-chemicals plants.
By providing EPC services for the construction of Wison Nanjing's coal-to-synthetic gas production facility, we entered into our first contract in this business segment in 2007.
Major Projects
Erdos Jinchengtai Methanol Project: We built a coal-to-methanol production plant for Erdos Jinchengtai Chemical Co., Ltd., in Erdos, China, under an E+PM+C contract, from April 2009 to the successful completion delivery in December 2012.
Pucheng Polyethylene Plant Project: We entered into an EPC contract with PuCheng Clean Energy Chemical Co., Ltd. to build a 700 kta polyethylene production plant. This project commenced in March 2012 and made a successful start-up on January 2015, which passed a performance test organized by the owner and was awarded the 2015 National High-Quality Engineering Prize for the Chemical Industry in October 2015.
Wison (Nanjing) Clean Energy Co., Ltd. 300 kta MTO Plant: Wison Engineering designed and participated in project management. The project features the application of Wison Engineering's advanced UOP reaction technology and proprietary olefin separation technology. The project kicked off on 10 April 2012, with its detailed design completed in January 2013, and was delivered on 30 June. It successfully started operations on 22 September that year.
1,000 ton/day Bottom Quench Plant Developed by Wison-Shell: Wison Engineering and Shell began cooperating in the bottom quench plant project starting in 2011. The technology, developed by Shell, was industrialized by both Wison and Shell. The partnership combines Shell's profound experience in coal and residue gasification technologies and Wison's experience in engineering design and project management. In November 2013, the bottom quench plant successfully started up at Wison (Nanjing) Clean Energy's Phase III coal to gas project.
Shandong Yangmei Hengtong Chemicals Company Limited 300 kta MTO Plant Project: Undertook construction of the 300 kta MTO plant and the design of its public engineering and ancillary facilities. The project features the application of Wison Engineering's proprietary olefin separation technology, while the methanol conversion and olefin cracking uses the patented UOP technology. The project kicked off on 10 June 2013, and was delivered on 30 January 2015.
Guizhou Xinxin Group yellow phosphorus tail gas to 70 kta oxalic acid and 10 kta ethylene glycol project: The project, under an EPC contract, adopted the world's leading proprietary technology for the production of ethylene glycol from synthetic gas. That technology has been jointly developed by Wison Engineering, Guizhou Xinxin Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd. ("Xinxin Group") and Tianjin University.
Xinjiang Xinlianxin Energy & Chemical Co., Ltd. 280 kta ammonia and 480 kta urea project: Wison Engineering has provided designing services. The project was delivered in December 2013 and has become operational on schedule.
