Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd - Trusted EPC Contractor for Supercritical Coal-fired and Combined Cycle Projects

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction engages in the entire process of coal-fired, combined cycle and any other power plant projects, from design and procurement to construction. We built units 7 and 8 for Hadong thermal power plant, Korea’s first EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) project and we have also been chosen as the EPC contractor for major coal-fired and combined cycle projects in India, Saudi Arabia and Vietnam, a testimony to our world-class competitiveness in power plants.

Coal-Fired Thermal Plant

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction is supplying comprehensive engineering, from the manufacturing of key power equipment such as boilers, turbines and generators to design, construction and commissioning, by taking part in a number of coal-fired thermal power plants around the world. The top-quality projects we have undertaken include the units 7 and 8 for Hadong thermal power plant, Korea’s first EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) project, as well as overseas projects such as the 4,000 MW Mundra project, the world’s largest coal-fired power plant in India, the 2,800 MW Rabigh 2 project in Saudi Arabia and the 1,120MW Mong Duong 2 project in Vietnam.

As coal-fired thermal power plants can generate a large amount of electricity using relatively cheap and abundant coal, they account for a many of electricity generation around the world.

Combined Cycle Power Plant

Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction supplies key power systems of combined cycle plants such as gas turbines and steam turbines. We engaged in the Daharki project in Pakistan and the Amman East Power Plant project in the UAE and are currently undertaking major combined cycle projects such as the 1,945MW JBL M project in the UAE and the 1,238MW Qurayyah Add-on project in Saudi Arabia. Our superior technology and extensive experience enable us to not only supply equipment for combined cycle power plants but also execute EPC projects around the world.

Combined cycle offers higher efficiency, lower investment costs and shorter construction time compared with conventional coal-fired power generating systems and is being installed in increasing numbers around the world.
