COAL TAR ENAMEL  


Loid T-11 (Coal Tar Enamel) is widely accepted as one of the most effective & economical anti-corrosion protection material. It serves as the most protective measure against corrosion and deterioration due to rusting. Loid T-11 (Coal Tar Enamel) is manufactured in accordance with standards BS: 4164, AWWA: C203 and IS: 10221.

APPLICATION

Loid Coal Tar Enamel is widely used for Corrosion protection, Resistance to Bacteria & Marine Organism, Resistant to Catholic Disbanding, Resistant to Root Growth Penetration, High Electrical Resistivity, and Chemical Stability, High resistant to Petroleum Products etc. and provides long term protection to applicant areas and taking its full advantage unrivaled properties are being preferred to use in subterranean pipe lines, submarine cross country pipe lines, underground pipe lines, penstock, inclined piping etc.

STORAGE

There are no special requirements for storage of solid enamel, although storage in shaded area is helpful when breaking up the enamel into smaller pieces.

It is recommended to store liquid Loid Coal Tar Enamel in the maintened temeprature from 180° C to 210° C

COAL TAR TAPE  


Loid T-21 Coal Tar Tape is designed to protect buried metal surfaces from corrosion and electrolysis. Loid Coal Tar Tape is completely saturated and bonded to both sides of a high tensile strength fabric. Coal Tar Tape is manufactured to meet the requirements of AWWA: D 36, D2415, BS 4164 and IS 1022.

Loidtape is supplied in rolls with a plastic liner to separate layers. Available in widths of 200mm, 250mm, 330mm, 500mm and 1000mm, lengths of 10 meters and in thicknesses of 2, 3 and 4mm. Material is packed in cardboard boxes and shipped. Loidtape Confirms to IS:15337, AWWA C203.

STORAGE, HANDLING & SHIPPING

All packages to be stored in cardboard boxes in a cool dry covered area. Direct contact with sunlight to be avoided. Proper care must be taken while handling the material during stacking, loading and unloading. No package should be dropped or thrown from vehicles. Packages should not be handled with hooks. it is also recommended that the coating and primer be stored inside during cold weather.

COAL TAR OUTER / INNER WRAP  


Loid T-31 (Coal Tar Outer Wrap) has excellent resistance to soil stresses and the decaying effect of moisture, bacteria and root growth and helps provide the coating with a high electrical resistivity with regards to cathodic protection. Coal Tar Outer Wrap is manufactured to meet the requirements of AWWA: C203 , BS 4164 and IS 10221.

Loidwrap is manufactured to meet the requirements of AWWA C-203 and IS-10221. The fibre glass mat is impregnated with Coal Tar that is fully compatible with Loidwrap Enamel manufactured in accordance with AWWA C-203 & BS-4164. Loidwrap surface is dusted with inorganic parting agent, to prevent sticking with the roll. The tensile strength is more than adequate to allow trouble free application with high speed wrapping machines.

APPLICATION

Suitable for use in factory, line travel and hand repair application. The depth of penetration of Loidwrap can be controlled by tension and Coal Tar Enamel temperature. The overall coating thickness can be controlled by speed application, Coal Tar Enamel temprature and Loidwrap tension.

A minimum overlap of 13 mm at a tension is to be given to avoid wrinkles, buckles and defects and at the same time allowing bleed outs between laps.

HEALTH, SAFETY & STORAGE

Use of gloves, goggles and face masks are recommended during application. To be stored in cool, dry and covered place, away from heat and naked flames.

SYNTHETIC PRIMER  


Synthetic Primer is manufactured from chlorinated rubber to conform to standards such as:

  • IS 10221:82

Synthetic Primer can be readily applied cold by brushing or spraying to produce a suitable and effective bond between metal and subsequent coating of Coal Tar Enamel.

Synthetic Primer consists of chlorinated rubber plasticizers and solvents. They are suitably compounded to produce coating that can be readily applied cold by brushing or spraying to produce a suitable and effective bond betweeen the metal and subsequent coating of Coal Tar Enamel.
