Neptune Hydrocarbons | We Produce Quality Distillate Coal Tar Products at Affordable Price

Coal Tar Pitch

Coaltar pitch is a thick black liquid that remains after the distillation of Coaltar. It contains many chemical compounds including carcinogens such as benzene. Studies of coke-oven pitch indicate that coal-tar pitch contains: four-membered aromatic hydrocarbon ring systems (e.g. chrysene, fluoranthene, pyrene, triphenylene, naphthacene and benzanthracene); five-membered ring systems; six-membered ring systems (dibenzopyrenes, dibenzofluoranthenes and benzoperylenes); and seven-ring systems (coronene). Other aromatic chemicals in coal-tar pitch include methylated and polymethylated derivatives, mono- and polyhydroxylated derivatives, and heterocyclic compounds.

Application

It is used as base for coatings and paint, in roofing and paving, and as a binder in asphalt products.

Grades of coaltar pitch
  • ALUMINIUM/ANODE GRADE PITCH
Aluminium grade of pitch is used for manufacturing of Anodes (both pre-baked & soderberg) in Aluminium industries. It is used as a binding agent for the manufacture of high quality electrodes for electric arc furnace.
  • GRAPHITE GRADE
Binder pitch : Graphite grade pitch used as binder material for manufacturing of graphite electrodes Impregnating pitch: It is used in Graphite electrode, nipple impregnation and UHP grade electrode manufacture. Graphite grades now benefit from much finer grain size. The relatively large number of graphite grades available in today’s market can cause confusion for the potential consumer in deciding which type of graphite and which graphite grade is appropriate for a specific use.
  • OTHER GRADES OF PITCH
These are used in Iron & Steel industries, refractories, carbon paste, paints, water proofing coating materials etc. The impregnating-grade coal tar pitch is a special type of coal tar pitch, which has a low content (0-3 %) of Quinoline Insolubles (QI), besides having lower values of softening point (SP), Toluene Insolubles (TI), coking yield and Specific Gravity (SG), compared to those of the binder-grade coal tar pitch.
Dehydrate Coal Tar

It is a viscous liquid mixture of hydrocarbon compounds and polishing on Steel and Aluminium components which are used for industrial purpose in many various industries, derived, along with coke, from the destructive distillation of coal in coking ovens. Being flammable, Coaltar is used for heating or to fire boilers for impregnating of graphite electrode & refractory bricks, for all binding application. Coal tar was discovered around 1665 and used for medical purposes as early as the 1800’s. It is on the World Health Organization’s List of Essential Medicines, the most effective and safe medicines needed in a health system.

Oil

We produce different fractions of oil like wood preservation Oil, antracene oil and light creosote oil.

Features
  • WOOD PRESERVATION OIL
Used for impregnating railway wooden sleepers, electricity and telephone poles. Wood oils are known for their micro-porous properties, which allows them to sink into, feed and become part of the wood grain. Patch repairs are also far simpler than those of a varnish, with a light sand and re-application making for a seamless, effective repair. Whether you’re finishing an interior floor, kitchen worktop, fence or animal hutch, all wood types and projects are catered for both inside and out.
  • ANTHRACENE OIL
Anthracene oil is a heavy green oil (partially solidifying on cooling), which distills over from coal tar at a temperature above 270°. It is used as feedstock to manufacture carbon black and coal tar enamel. Anthracene Oil is primarily used to make paints. These oils are carefully obtained through coal tar distillation process.
  • LIGHT CREOSOTE OIL
Creosote oil is a common name for a group of oil like products that are obtained from tar. One of them is coal tar creosote and the other is wood tar creosote. However, there is a plant which smells much like creosote and it is the creosote bush, better known as Chaparral ( Larrea tridentata ). It is one of the main raw material for manufacturing Phenyles, used by ink manufacturers and in paints and asphalt liquefying.
Our Other Products:
  • Crude Napthalene
This is a byproduct of coaltar and is produced by increasing the temperature upto 240 °c.it is used  for the production of Napthalene balls, pesticides, disinfectants etc.
