100LX

Mines and utilities can be faced with storing large volumes of coal. This can lead to several material handling challenges including dusting off the pile, wet coal flow issues, spontaneous combustion concerns, as well as deterioration in coal quality. 100LX is a high quality latex material that forms a durable, water resistant crust that helps combat each of the aforementioned material handling concerns.

COALEX

CoalEX flotation reagents are a range of highly selective products that are very effective in the separation of coal from the associated ash constituents. Each product is the result of extensive test work and refinement, delivering the required outcome for various coal types and processes. High recoveries, lower ash and minimum cost-per-ton expenditures are just some the highly desirable properties of this range.

CTS100

The most cost effective solution to eliminating dust in transit is the application of a car top binder. CTS100 has been used to successfully treat more than 70 million tons of coal in the last calendar year. The latex based product creates a water proof crust flexible enough to withstand the vibration experienced in transit and durable enough to hold up to solar stressing and extreme wind speeds.

DRYSORB

Moving wet coal through material handling units can prove challenging. The increased surface moisture creates stronger hydrogen bonds between coal particles that can lead to rat-holing or, in more severe cases, completely plugged chutes, silos and feeders. This can eliminate or choke down flow to the plant and lead to costly derates. Adding DrySorb to the coal stream converts the excess surface moisture to a lubricating gel, allowing the coal to easily flow through chutes and bottle necks.

DUSTLOCK

DustLock offers the most cost effective solution to controlling dust in transit on the market today. A wind tunnel was created that allows us to subject specific coal samples to sustained wind speeds of 60 MPH. The testing process also simulates the vibration experienced during transit, rain, freezing conditions, solar stressing and more. DustLock allows for improved performance at lower application rates by creating a more uniform crust that penetrates further into the coal profile.

ENVIROGREEN 2600

The key to controlling coal dust is to effectively wet the surface of the material. This is difficult because coal is aggressively hydrophobic. Traditional dust control products use surfactant to overcome this hydrophobic phenomenon and wet the material. However, without the addition of an expensive binding agent, dust control only lasts until the water dries. We’ve combined the power of surfactants with an affordable binder that also offers humectant characteristics to create EnviroGreen 2600

FREEFLOW SR300

The most common symptom of frozen coal is carry back - coal frozen to the side wall of a rail car that won’t unload. This leads to a loss in coal yield, slows down unloading times and can increase the likelihood of a derailment. FreeFlow SR300 side release agent resists product loss due to run-off before rail cars are loaded. Because more product stays on the vertical rail car walls, a thicker and more effective freeze barrier is created that fights the formation of carry back.

HOTSHOT

When a rail car becomes compromised by carry back during the winter months, the problem typically builds throughout the freeze season and the carry back is not eliminated until the weather breaks. This can lead to significantly lowered railcar space, adversely affecting the bottom line. Preventing carry back from occurring with an effective side release program is ideal, but if and when carry back develops, do something about it with HotShot - the carry back killer.

ICE-TROL 941

Conveying systems moving coal in wintertime conditions often encounter problems with water freezing on belts which can result in slippage of material. We offer a belt deicing program that solves this material handling challenge. Ice-Trol 941 is an extremely effective belt deicer that melts existing ice and prevents further build up. The material has a freeze point of minus 50 degrees F and can stand up to the harshest of winter conditions.

MERCONTROL 6012

MerControl 6012 technology is a patented, non-halogenated, non-carbon breakthrough sorbent for the capture of mercury in flue gas for plants with spray dry absorber (SDA) and circulating dry scrubber (CDS) units. Application of MerControl 6012 to SDA and CDS units results in mercury emissions well below Mercury & Air Toxics Standards (MATS) limits at a lower capital and O&M cost than the competitive technology of brominated powdered activated carbon.

MERCONTROL 7895

MerControl 7895 technology (US Patent 6,808,692) is a simple, liquid based, method for increasing mercury oxidation rates to facilitate mercury capture across existing Air Quality Control Devices, such as electrostatic precipitators, w-FGDs, etc. MerControl 7895 technology can be used in conjunction with other mercury control technologies, for example, activated carbon and mercury reemission suppressants including MerControl 8034/8034 Plus technology, to reduce overall compliance cost.

RELEASEZ

ReleasEZ is a wet product that can be used in two different manners. In some cases, treating the equipment itself rather than the coal can be a very cost effective way to alleviate wet coal flow challenges. ReleasEZ is designed to penetrate the micro-pores in steel to create a non-stick surface. For more severe wet coal flow problems, ReleasEZ can be used to treat the surface moisture on wet coal to weaken the hydrogen bonds present and eliminate bridging and/or rat-holing.

SPONSUPPRESS CPC

SponSuppress CPC (Coal Pile Control) is a full body feed product that physically and chemically alters the coal to combat spontaneous combustion. The CPC formulation slows down the oxidation process, the root cause of sponcom, and acts as a powerful residual dust control agent. SponSuppress CPC not only makes treated coal far less likely to experience spontaneous combustion from self-heating, but also controls dust from the point of application to unloading, reclamation and beyond.

SPONSUPPRESS TC2

As soon as coal is mined and exposed to oxygen, oxidation begins. As long as the heat generated from oxidation is able to dissipate, the temperature of the coal will not rise and spontaneous combustion is not a concern. However, if unable to dissipate, that heat can build until temperatures necessary for ignition are reached. SponSuppress TC2 (Total Coal Control) formulation combines the ability to control sponcom and offer dust control with industry leading freeze conditioning performance.
