In the last article we discussed the four stages of endometriosis. After all tests are conducted and the verdict is in, you can at least take some steps to control the pain associated with endometriosis.

Endometriosis can be managed in a variety of ways. The first is to control stress. If you are a smoker you should consider quitting the habit. There is no actual link between smoking and endometriosis, but cigarette smoke impairs the body's ability to fight against disease and you want to have your body in optimum condition to help you deal with your endometriosis.

In addition, you may want to undertake a detoxification program. Detoxifying your body is a good way to improve your health and energize your body's ability to fight against illness and disease.

It is also a good idea to begin an exercise regiment if you have not already done so. Exercise is important because it keeps your body running at peak ability. In addition to maintaining physical health, you should concentrate on maintaining emotional health as well. Consider techniques like meditation and yoga to help you relax and stay calm.

Furthermore, there are support groups available for sufferers of endometriosis. Consider joining one of these groups as it can help enormously to have contact with other people experiencing the same things that your are. Studies have proven that joining a support group is highly beneficial to people afflicted with endometriosis.

Finally, it is a good idea to keep an endometriosis diary. You should keep a running record of these following things:

-    eating habits
-    daily notes about how you feel
-    symptoms each day
-    your monthly menstrual cycle
-    bowel movements

Having this information to hand can help when discussing symptoms with your doctor or for monitoring the effectiveness of any treatments you are trying.

Information on therapy options for endometriosis will be discussed in the next article.
