Beware of the three ways of getting fooled into giving up your money through seemingly innocent money-making schemes. Scams are all around us and it can be found in every single area of life, but more so in such areas where the risk is greater such as when dealing with credit cards, bank accounts and other activities which involve sending or receiving money online.

The Bank/Credit Card Email Scam:

If you get an email asking you to sign up to your bank account or credit card through the email because your privacy is under danger or just to receive a free gift or something: BEWARE! Do not sign up through the internet address provided in the email. If the email does make you anxious, go to the bank or credit card site using the address you know already or through searching the search engines.

How Does This Scam Work?

The senders of the email know that only a very few will sign up but that is all they need. When you signed up to the bogus internet address, they got your user and password. Now its time for them to party!

The Missing Millionaire Scam:

If you receive an email saying that they represent a dead or missing former ruler, high-ranking official or businessman from an African, Gulf or even Russian: BEWARE! They offer you a chance to earn anything between one to five percent of ten to fifty million. And for your co-operation only. Don't get sucked into this, for though they speak of giving you money, they will receive cash and from your account.

How Does This Scam Work?

They will ask you for your bank details in order to transfer the cash and then they will use that to transfer a small amount. Now, once you trust them, they will ask you for more personal and secure details because they "need" that to transfer the entire sum in and out of your account. What they won't tell you is that they will transfer all the money out from your account: theirs and yours.

The Make Money Fast Scam:

This is the most innocent of the lot, but that is also why it is the most dangerous. These are so-called companies that advertise that if you only sign up and use their system, you will mint money. Please do not fall for such schemes. They will pay you some money but then once trust is built, they will fleece your bank account. Remember that quick money scams are the surest and fastest way to lose all your money!

Conclusion:

Whatever you do online, always remember that the internet is not a safe place. Treat it like you would treat any other business venture and bring up your guard. If you play it safe and check out the companies before committing, you will be able to guard yourself against losing money to crooks.

Track all sources of traffic generation.

John Reese stresses the need to track where all traffic comes from and at what cost. It is crucial to know exactly how many sales, newsletter sign-ups, or other leads your particular marketing campaigns generating. This enables you to work smarter and not harder. By tracking all traffic to your site you can make twice as much while working fifty percent less.

Content is King

On the internet, people are searching for one thing, Content!  Load your website with as much content as possible. Then, continuously add content. Search engines love information and they will love your site if you've got lots of it. There's plenty of free content for the taking on the internet. You can load up your site with articles from article directories like ezinearticles.com. Or, you could be like John and use content from the public domain. Or, you can use content that is in the creative commons. This type is now easier than ever to find now that Yahoo and others have come out with a search engine designed specifically for content that is in the creative commons.

An affiliate program is critical to maximum traffic and sales. Lots of internet marketers don't take advantage of this powerful traffic-generating technique. An affiliate program allows you to have your own personal salesman spread all over the web. The best part about it is that there is absolutely no risk involved but tons of traffic and sales to gain. Your website simply cannot grow to its full potential without an effective affiliate program.
Banner Ads

John Reese advocates the use of banner ads during a time when they are largely an untapped marketing source. Banner ads are one of the most overlooked sources of targeted traffic online.

Also, banner ads are now one of the cheapest sources of targeted traffic. In the late 1990's during the dot-com boom, people were selling banner ads for $40 and $50 CPM. Then the dot-com bubble hit and these rates hit the floor. You can now buy banner ads dirt cheap, at $1 to $1.50 CPM. This is $1 for 1,000 banner impressions. The key here is to find the perfect place to advertise that will send targeted, willing to buy customers to your site.

Create viral reports that can quickly spread around the internet. This method works best when you have an affiliate program. Allow others to brand your report in order to encourage its distribution.

A quality free report can be a powerful promoter when passed around the internet. This same phenomenon can occur when you submit your articles to article directories and popular newsletters.

Take advantage of your virtual real estate.

Take advantage of the different parts of your website. Don't let any of your web pages go to waste. You can do this by adding a link to another one of your web sites or pages on your thank-you or sales confirmation pages. If you have articles on your site, place links to related articles on the bottom of the page. The longer you keep a visitor at your web site, the more valuable they become.

It is very important to funnel traffic from within the multiple sites you may have.

Continually seek out other web sites to link to you. Now, we're not just talking about any kind of link here, but powerful, traffic-generating links from respected sites. Here are some quick suggestions:

Send a related web site an article that you have written and allow them to display it on their website with a resource box at the end. Offer to exchange articles and tell them about the benefits of doing so.

Allow multiple, related web sites to distribute your free e-book or report. All web masters are looking to add value to their web site, why not make it easy for them.

There are unlimited possibilities, be creative!

Online group participation can produce a no-cost stream of traffic and sales.

Get involved in email discussion lists, online groups and forums that are related to your target market. Becoming involved in discussions makes you very credible. Traffic from forums can produce a much higher sales conversion rate.

This method can produce quite a bit of sales for you just by helping others out. Not to mention, you'll learn a lot along the way.

Does Achieving a Decent Google Page Rank Really Matter?

It's not so very long ago that I used to subscribe to the notion that AOL and Yahoo believed they owned the Internet and had the right to control it. The over-the-top war on spam a clever smoke screen whilst our monitors were pumped with pop-ups that generated them millions.

During the last couple of years however, it seems that ownership of the Internet has been surrendered to a new overlord! GOOGLE! And we should all point our prayer mats to face Mountain View CA... Or should we?

For those of us involved in any form of search engine optimization (SEO), we are led to believe that if our websites are not recognised and accepted by our new master, then we are doomed to internet failure.

Currently, there are hundreds of tutorials available within the Internet fraternity, offering tips, tricks and secret formulae 'guaranteed' to make our pages "Google-Friendly", and presented in a format which will be acceptable to this Search Engine Giant. Yet who knows what is acceptable to Google and what is not?

Google's regular algorithm changes are becoming more and more unpredictable and this deceit presents the potential for high damage to your website's profitability at short notice. In their Company Profile, Google claims that their mission is to "organize the world's information, and make it universally accessible and useful".

It is questionable however, as to whether their methods offer the world free and relevant results for any search term, or whether they in fact, push forward information offered by those websites that adhere to Google's ever changing and secretive rulebook.

Since only a fraction of the World Wide Web is indexed by the "world's Leading Search Engine", it's not really rocket science to understand that the results offered in any Google search will not reflect the information available for that search term.

The Internet is there for all of us to enjoy. A free information system, with a level playing field when it comes to getting our websites noticed. Google's agenda now seems to be to present information from the highest bidders rather than delivering quality information to it's search pages.

And what of "Google Ranking"? So much store is set by the importance of being ranked by Google, yet is it really that important?

For Example, let's say your interest is in Basket Weaving. You go to the Google Search page and enter "Basket Weaving" in the search box, hit the search button and... at No.2 on page 1 (a place we all dream of seeing our website for our main keyword) you will see "Underwater Basket Weaving", a website with a Google page rank of 2/10 and showing very limited information relevant to the requested search term.

Now look at position 3 on page 1. Homecrafts Direct with a page rank of 0/10 and again quite limited in it's relevancy. Ok, now go to page 8 (A place we are led to believe has little chance of being noticed). At position one on the day of writing is SimplyBaskets.com, a beautifully presented, extremely informative webpage, with a Google Pagerank of 4/10, specializing in "Basket Weaving".

It is clear from this simple exercise, which can be demonstrated using practically any search term you choose, that Google's awesome search techniques don't really work as well as they would have us believe. Perhaps it's their own constant meddling of protocol that will eventually expose them.

So why do we need Google? Does being ranked by Google make a difference? It would appear that one of the biggest, if not the most visited website on the Internet, Amazon.com don't fare any better than the rest of us where Google are concerned.

They have a Google page rank of 0/10, and my Link Popularity Check software tells me that Google return no pages that link to Amazon.com - I find it difficult to believe that the "world's largest search engine" does not recognize it's links back to Amazon.Com

The word Google is a play on the word "Googol", the mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros, and whilst Google's founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, coined it in an efforet to reflect their company's mission to organise an immense amount of information, I believe that the company's new agenda is to organise a similar amount of dollars into their bank account.

I do however swear that they will get no help from me in so doing! I am now cured of my Google adoration fixation, and I set about my search engine optimization duties treating all search engines the same.

One can do little more than present an informative, attractive and useful website, with Meta Tags designed to help all search engines. The Internet belongs to us all, and hopefully it will stay that way for the forseeable future.

Can Identity Theft Happen to You?

The Federal Trade Commission estimates that as many as 9 million Americans have their identities stolen each year. In fact, you or someone you know may have experienced some form of identity theft.

The crime takes many forms. Identity thieves may rent an apartment, obtain a credit card, or establish a telephone account in your name.

You may not find out about the theft until you review your credit report or a credit card statement and notice charges you didn’t make—or until you’re contacted by a debt collector.

Identity theft is serious. While some identity theft victims can resolve their problems quickly, others spend hundreds of dollars and many days repairing damage to their good name and credit record.

Some consumers victimized by identity theft may lose out on job opportunities, or be denied loans for education, housing or cars because of negative information on their credit reports. In rare cases, they may even be arrested for crimes they did not commit.

How do thieves steal an identity?

Identity theft starts with the misuse of your personally identifying information such as your name and Social Security number, credit card numbers, or other financial account information. For identity thieves, this information is as good as gold.

Skilled identity thieves may use a variety of methods to get hold of your information, including:

1. Dumpster Diving. They rummage through trash looking for bills or other paper with your personal information on it.

2. Skimming. They steal credit/debit card numbers by using a special storage device when processing your card.

3. Phishing. They pretend to be financial institutions or companies and send spam or pop-up messages to get you to reveal your personal information.

4. Changing Your Address. They divert your billing statements to another location by completing a change of address form.

5. Old-Fashioned Stealing. They steal wallets and purses; mail, including bank and credit card statements; pre-approved credit offers; and new checks or tax information. They steal personnel records, or bribe employees who have access.

6. Pretexting.  They use false pretenses to obtain your personal information from financial institutions, telephone companies, and other sources.

What do thieves do with a stolen identity?

Once they have your personal information, identity thieves use it in a variety of ways.

Credit card fraud:

• They may open new credit card accounts in your name. When they use the cards and don't pay the bills, the delinquent accounts appear on your credit report.

• They may change the billing address on your credit card so that you no longer receive bills, and then run up charges on your account. Because your bills are now sent to a different address, it may be some time before you realize there's a problem.

Phone or utilities fraud:

• They may open a new phone or wireless account in your name, or run up charges on your existing account.

• They may use your name to get utility services like electricity, heating, or cable TV.

Bank/finance fraud:

• They may create counterfeit checks using your name or account number.

• They may open a bank account in your name and write bad checks.

• They may clone your ATM or debit card and make electronic withdrawals your name, draining your accounts.

• They may take out a loan in your name.

Government documents fraud:

• They may get a driver's license or official ID card issued in your name but with their picture.

• They may use your name and Social Security number to get government benefits.

• They may file a fraudulent tax return using your information.

Other fraud:

• They may get a job using your Social Security number.

• They may rent a house or get medical services using your name.

• They may give your personal information to police during an arrest. If they don't show up for their court date, a warrant for arrest is issued in your name.

How can you find out if your identity was stolen?

The best way to find out is to monitor your accounts and bank statements each month, and check your credit report on a regular basis. If you check your credit report regularly, you may be able to limit the damage caused by identity theft. For more information, visit the Detect Identity Theft section.

Unfortunately, many consumers learn that their identity has been stolen after some damage has been done.

• You may find out when bill collection agencies contact you for overdue debts you never incurred.

• You may find out when you apply for a mortgage or car loan and learn that problems with your credit history are holding up the loan.

• You may find out when you get something in the mail about an apartment you never rented, a house you never bought, or a job you never held.

The Top Six Tips You Should Know to Recognize a Really Genuine and Sincere Internet Gurus

When you're learning about something new, it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the sheer amount of relevant information available. This informative article should help you focus on the central points.

As Newbies in this Internet Business, you’re always looking for more quality businesses that you can sell and make a profit.

You surf from website to another website, join affiliate programs that promise you financial wealth and three months after that, your income is….. ZERO!

Here’s another one. You buy a good and quality product (as mention by the website owner) that can increase your sales in whatever that is you are selling. After applying the method and advise from the product you’ve just bought, your income is….. ZERO!

The problem is that most newbies boldly trust the product they’ve just bought from the website owners or Gurus without really recognise the sincerity of the so called Gurus. These Gurus know exactly what does newbies really want. They write a very nice and catchy salesletter to make you believe that their product is simply the best on the Internet. By the time you click the “Order” button, then only you’ve realized your mistake. You’ve just make them richer, while you keep on losing money.

They are thousands and thousands of self-proclaimed Gurus on the Internet. So, which one should you choose to be your Guru? How do you actually recognise a really genuine and sincere Internet Gurus? Here then are the top six tips you should know:

1. Contact The Guru

Find the guru contact number or email address and contact them. Try to learn more about the product from the guru himself. Yeah, oh course you already read his salesletter. But you need to know more before you decide to buy his product. Ask him a lot of questions and see how he replies. If he can answer all of your questions, you know he is truly a man he claimed to be. Always remember one crucial thing, don’t trust any guru because you want to trust him. But trust him only when he can convince you.

2. Guru Replies Your Email

Make sure the guru himself reply your email. This is very important. Whatever questions you’ve sent to him, you want to listen from the man himself and not his friend or staff or his support team. If he can’t reply your email, that just shown that he seems don’t really care about your success. He only wants your pocket money, nothing more.

You can see that there's practical value in learning more about Internet Gurus. Can you think of ways to apply what's been covered so far?

3. Short Period Of Time For Guru To Reply Your Email

Allow the guru maximum of 2 or 3 days only to reply your email. If he takes 5 to 10 days or maybe up to 14 days, you simply backaway immediately and don’t buy his product. You probably know that the guru have tons of email in his inbox and he might not have time to entertain everybody. But then again, that is his problem, not yours. He should be prepare to read his email anytime because this is his business anyway. It’s a modern and advance world nowadays. Everything needs to be done quickly and instantly.

4. Buy A Product From Guru That Offers REFUND

If the guru has this offer to you, he is quite confident about his product and he really wants to see you succeed. He strongly believes in his product and so do you. If you’re not happy with the product, simply refund it. You’ve nothing to lose. Remember, guru that does not offer any refund simply just want to steal your money and run away.

5. Check Your Affiliate Link On Autoresponder

When you buy a product that have resell rights or joint any affiliate programs, usually the guru has set up an autoresponder messages for you to sell to your own customers. So you don’t have to create your own that will cost you a lot of time. Make sure that the autoresponder have your own affiliate link inside it. When your customers click on it, it will be your sale and you get the money. It does happen when certain gurus take advantage of you by putting his own link inside your autoresponder after you promote it to your customer. This is truly a dishonest guru you’ve ever seen.

6. Ask Around About The Guru

Do some research of your own to find out about the guru. If he is truly good as he claims to be, some other people might know him and use his product before. Ask somebody that you know about him. Or you can ask somebody from any forum programs that you’ve joined. Gather as many information as you can. Than only you can decide clearly.

As you can see, it is not easy to put your trust in anybody. How can you put your trust on somebody when you don’t even know who the person is? It’s a jungle out there. But if you follow exactly the tips mentioned above, you have a high chance to success and chase your dreams.

Now might be a good time to write down the main points covered above. The act of putting it down on paper will help you remember what's important about Internet Gurus.

Three Simple & Sure Ways to Monetize Your Website Traffic as Much as Possible

I think most legitimate work from home/online money making method is designing your own website and then turn it to a host of money making activities. Web site is ultimate money making machine, it earns even when you are sleeping. Today, the Web is an intensely commercial medium, offering plenty of ways to make money. So your best strategy is to earn as much money as possible.

I have enlisted simple & sure ways to earn cash with your website.

ADVERTISING ON YOUR WEBSITE

The best and most proven method of making a profit out of your website is using advertising. Internet advertising is on an ascending trend, which shows plenty of potential for the near and distant future.

1. Contextual ads : The popular search engine - Google has introduced a dramatic new contextual advertising service called AdSense which allows virtually any website owner to make money without having to do too much. AdSense is a program in which you get paid for targeting your readers to another websites product or service. Google AdSense simply requires the host site to paste in a few lines of HTML code on their pages where they want those ads to appear. This code creates the ads that you see and when someone clicks on one of these ads they go to the advertiser's site. The advertiser is then charged for the click by Google and Google shares the money with you.

Sign up for Google Adsense and place Google ads on your site. Google will display the most appropriate ads according to your content and you will get paid for every click on an ad. People are making thousands a month with this.

2. In-Text Ads : When you mouse over one of these doubly underlined sponsored links you will be presented with a Tool Tip describing an advertiser's product or service. If someone click on the key-word and it will act like an ordinary link taking visitor to a page belonging to the advertising company. For every click on a highlighted key-word, you will receive a small payment.

In-Text Advertising solution lets you monetize your content in real-time, enabling an incremental increase in ad revenue by providing a new source of untapped ad inventory that does not compete with the other ad programs running on the site. Thereby providing you with a new revenue stream from the content within your site. Intellitxt and ContextWeb provides in-text ads to websites.

2. DISPLAY AFFILIATE PROGRAM'S LINKS & BANNERS

Another method of monetizing your traffic by putting links/banners of affiliate programs on your website. Concept is really quite simple. Every thing is based on paid referral system. Visitors come to your website, you introduced them to product or service from a third party vendor through a banner or text link and you get paid a commission by merchant in various way: a. Paid per click, b. Paid per lead . Paid per sale. You can choose affiliate networks where different advertisers offer their banners codes and links that will display their banners on your site along with tracking of your sales and leads. Best affiliate networks to get affiliate programs are :

a. Commission Junction
b. Clixgalore
c. Linkshare

3. SELL AFFILIATE PRODUCTS

Another profitable way to earn money is to sell affiliate products. You simply direct traffic to their Web site and earn commissions when people buy products.

a. A good way to start with affiliate products is to sign up with ClickBank. There are well over 10,000 different Digital info products. Write up some reviews and recommendations and send traffic to the ClickBank merchant, and if the product sells, you get commissions sometimes as high as 75%. This type of Web site is very simple to setup, however, it requires a large amount of visitor traffic to earn significant money. It's easy to complement an existing Web site with affiliate links for offering related products to your visitors and, at the same time, earning money.

b. Make money selling other company's products through affiliate programs. They'll give you a link to track your sales. Amazon.com is great place to get HTML codes for various products to promote and earn commission. Thousands of people are making a full time income just by driving traffic from their site to merchant sites, never touching or shipping a product.

5. Charge a fee to access a section of your site - Provide free access to main sections of your website, but you can charge a fee for an access to members lounge where more lucrative information is often available. If your content is unique and valuable, you can make money charging for it online. People will pay for access, if it's useful to them. Your members lounge could be a forum, downloadable software, eBooks, listings, etc.

6. Collect and sell information - Creating a information database isn't just a good idea - it´s good business. e.g., you can compile listings for free classified websites, ezines, directories, work at home websites, etc. Put a price tag to download them.

7. Sell your own services to your target audience. Like if you have a web site on "making money online" and you are a web designer, you can make an offer to design web site to your visitor, so that they can make money from website. You want to be able to take credit cards (at least with PayPal if not otherwise) on your site and deliver your product to your customers as fast as possible.

There are many more methods to make money, but above enlisted methods can generate substantial amount of money for beginners and let us leave rest for expert guys.

Lastly, when your website is up and working, invest your 75% time in promoting it. Remember most important factor is amount of traffic on your website.

Protecting Yourself From Identity Theft Is Easier Than You Think

Your identity is stolen when someone uses your name, social security number, or other personal information to get credit cards or loans.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reports there were 9 million cases of identity theft last year with losses to consumers of more than $5 billion.  The simplest kind is credit card fraud, which accounts for over 60% of identity theft.

Get your free credit report

Check for identity theft by reviewing your credit report at least once a year.  You can get a free credit report every 12 months by calling (877) 322-8228 or online and the Annual Credit Report web site.

Protect yourself
  • Review your credit report for accounts you did not open and for account balances that are suspiciously high.
  • Only carry the credit and identification cards you need. Make copies of the cards you carry and keep them in a safe place. If your wallet disappears, you will have the information you need to report them as lost or stolen.
  • Do not respond to e-mail messages or telephone calls asking for personal and financial information.
Identity theft warning signs

Here are the most common signs of identity theft:
  • Your credit card statement has charges you did not make.
  • You get bills for accounts you never opened.
  • You are denied credit for no apparent reason.
  • Money is missing from your bank account.
If your identity is stolen
  • Get a copy of your credit report.  Note accounts you did not open and account balances that are suspiciously high.
  • Contact the major credit reporting companies. Ask them to place a “Fraud Alert” on your report. This alerts businesses to verify your identity before issuing credit and stops thieves from opening new accounts in your name.
  • File an “Identity Theft Police Report” at your local police station and keep a copy.
  • Contact companies that have reported accounts you did not open or charges you didn’t make. Send them a copy of your police report and a certified letter disputing the fraudulent charges.
  • Keep a record of your calls and letters.

Having a Huge Opt-in Lists Means Having Your Own License in Printing Money

So you have your business up and running, you have a small client base and wish to expand. What do you think would be a good idea at this point? Flyers? Media releases? No the answer is much more simple than that. You need to reach the masses without draining your resources and or tuckering yourself out. This is where Opt in lists come in handy.

The idea behind opt in lists, is simple whenever someone comes to your site, you place them on opt in list tag that prompts them to leave an email address. Then this address in turn can be used for promotional and business purposes. This is a very efficient and easy to use marketing strategy, and has definitely paid off for some of the biggest online firms on the planet. This e-mail listing is not solely reserved for clients, it can be used to address employees, investors, suppliers, distributors, resellers, and potential clients alike. In this day and age, it is highly unlikely that a company or even a common person does not have access to an e-mail account. With over 1 billion people globally online this year, you can bet just about all of them have e-mail, of some sort.

Permission based marketing is the way to go, if you feel you may be bothering or annoying someone, by sending them information about your product or service. The idea that you cannot send e-mail to everyone on the list is purely preposterous. Go for a high investment return audience if need be. When it comes down to it, e-mail has cornered the market on being a very fast communication devise that is cheap. It is far cheaper than using the telephone when you are dealing with the long distance charges. This could easily be one of the best marketing tools you find for your business why would you delay, and take a chance to lose more money? Many people still have no ideas to generate flow to their sites and how to do follow ups for further business. With opt in e-mail you will have an easy time keeping control of the business you can, could or will have.

This direct e-mail to client route is very slowly catching fire, and will most likely take over as the marketing method of choice in the very near future. With out a tool such as opt in list; the company cannot reach nearly as much of a potential client base as with the program. Any method proven to work and show production in a business should never be avoided. It may not work for you, but at least reviewing the information on it, and your options will give you a better idea on whether of not it would be right for you and you business.

Legitimate Cheap Ways to Attract Attention to Your Home-based Business Website

As a web site owner I can tell you that I have learned so much regarding creating, maintaining and marketing an online web site. I personally offer an work at home directory web site, but the tips and techniques I will mention in this article can save you time and money regardless of what type of online web site you may have.

One of the first things I learned was that it was helpful if you had a good editor to modify your pages when creating and maintaining your website. I found that NVU worked best for me. It is free and very easy to use. I also found that you could find plenty of help on the Internet if needed, because many people use it currently.

Web site hosting

You need to find a host company that offers a fast reliable service at a competitive price. Don't just go for the most inexpensive company out there. If you do your research you can find, like I did, companies that offer a reliable service for a minimal price. I wanted a site that offered some (PPC) Paid Per Click advertising credits, that I could use,  with the major search engines when I signed up. It will help get visitors to your site for free in the beginning.

Ads & Keywords

I have to be honest I made money, but until I read the Marshal free course on Adwords I did not fully understand the whole concept. He really helps you understand how to make your web site profitable.

Ads

I use both paid advertising and free advertising. Some sites that can be found on the Internet offer both options. I recommend doing your research and using both.

Keywords

It's great to have a lot of keywords, but if you are using the wrong ones all you are doing is throwing your money away. You can find sites on the Internet that offer both free and paid memberships that can help you get on the right track with your keywords. The free part was good in the beginning, but to be honest I should have gone to the paid program immediately. I did really well, but once I started using the full-blown version of these programs I was able to get so many relevant keywords that my business exploded. Not only was I also able to get more relevant keywords, but I got keywords that cost me half the price. That was really cool!

Article Submitters

One thing I recommend despite using (PPC) Paid Per Click advertising is to create as much free advertising as possible. I have written many articles and continue the practice to this day. You can find submitter programs that offer a free service for a limited period of time that will save you a lot of time as they submit your articles to hundreds of article directories with the click of a button. You will more than likely end up signing up for the paid service after you realize the time it takes to do it manually. Man, it is well worth the pennies it cost. There are many good programs available to choose from.

Other Tips

I found by searching the Internet that there were many other ways to attract attention to my site whether it be by using peel away ads, creative site marketing, article publishing or many other tools that you can find on the Internet.

In summary there are many tools that can be found to become very efficient in doing the weekly task required to create & maintain your website. It has freed up so much time that I can now spend with my family. It's funny looking back. I'm always thinking I wish I had known about this a year ago. Well now you do. Do your research and have some fun. Please feel free to read both this article or one of my many others by visiting my link in the resource box below. I always enjoy getting emails pertaining to my articles or my site. Your feedback is important to me.

I hope you enjoyed this article as much as I enjoyed writing it.

A lot of entrepreneurs benefit from blogging by promoting their businesses on their blogs, with millions and millions of people logging onto the net everyday, blogging has become a lucrative move. How to Have Reliable Access to the Internet for Your Home Based Business?

Over the last decade, many people have begun to take advantage of the opportunity to operate their business from home. The majority of these home businesses are actually operated via the Internet. As the Internet based success stories continue to mount up, more and more people are turning to the Internet to create their own success stories.

Until recently though, people who live in rural areas have not been able to take full advantage of internet business. Much of the reason for this is that people in rural areas lacked reliable internet access. Now that Wildblue satellite internet is available, people in rural areas can operate their Internet businesses just like people who live in metro areas.

There are a number of reasons that people enjoy home-based businesses.  One major reason is that some people do not like to have a boss telling them what to do everyday. They prefer to be their own boss and make successful company decisions. Another reason is that many people want to spend more time with their family. Self employment allows people to do these things and more, since they can set their own hours and choose how much work they want to take on.

Of course, all of this is only possible if you have the right equipment to get the job done. In today's fast paced internet driven markets, you absolutely must have a broadband connection to compete.

Some people who run home based businesses are more focused on enjoying life, with less emphasis on being a slave to the grindstone. As such, some of these people want to live in scenic rural areas where they can enjoy the great outdoors and get away from the rat race of the big cities. Since cable or DSL Internet service is not available in a wooded cabin, this kind of lifestyle has not been a real possibility for rural business owners, until now. With the creation of a company called Wildblue, high speed "always on" broadband is now available to everyone in the continental United States. Wildblue is predicting that in the next couple of years, millions of rural Americans will access their services. This means that you will be able to work from home, from wherever your heart may desire. If you want to live in the mountains of Colorado, the deep woods of the Ozarks, the cornfields of Nebraska, or anywhere else in rural America, you can do so, and you will still be able to take your broadband connection with you.

To successfully operate an Internet business, it is critical that you have not only the best computer equipment, but that you always have the best Internet access, and that you can always count on it to work. If you live in a small town, then you have probably tried the unreliable dial up services that usually have frequent disconnects and are painfully slow. In fact, most people don't truly understand how incredibly slow dial-up Internet is until they have had the opportunity to experience broadband for themselves.

Satellite Internet access can offer both speed and an affordable price. As a home based business operator you need to keep close tabs on how much you are spending on your overhead. That is one of the attractions of working on the Internet, that you generally have very little overhead. The price of satellite broadband greatly outweighs even the smallest brick and mortar expense.

High speed Internet is almost a requirement for the home based business, because customers demand it. Imagine running a business in today's world that does not accept credit cards, that business would lose a great deal of sales because of antiquated business practices. It is the same when you run an Internet business. Customers expect you to be able to respond quickly to their needs, and they expect that you are able to be online a great deal of the time. If a person runs their Internet business, but his or her server frequently goes offline or they log off repeatedly to use the phone, that person will lose multiple customers. Basically, you want to be able to present yourself and your business in a responsible and professional manner. Having reliable access to the Internet is one important way that you can do this.

The faster your connection is, the more you can get done. Being able to provide as many services as you can in as short of time as you can is simply good business. If you spend time waiting for pages to load, emails to go out, or waiting on your server to come back online, then you are not getting the highest level of production for your time.

If your dream job has been to work on the Internet from your home in the wilds of Wyoming or from the rural farmhouse that you grew up in, now you can. Wildblue is able to provide this high-speed broadband across the continental United States at an affordable rate. It only requires that you use a small satellite dish to get hooked up to the Internet. With the higher speeds, you will be able to make yourself and your customers happier with your business.

Several Methods You Can Use to Get More Interested Visitors to Your Website

No matter what opportunity or product you promote via the internet you do not have a business unless you have customers. One way to increase sales is to increase your customer base, this means more visitor traffic.  If you are not interested in free web traffic, congratulations, you must have deep pockets or all ready have more than you can handle. For those who are interested in free web traffic, read on.

Just getting large numbers of visitors to websites is not enough.  These visits have to turn into sales. A chance or uninterested visitor is little better than no visitor. Every site needs targeted visitors. Your site needs people who have seen your message and have had their interest peeked. With a targeted market approximately 3 visitors for every 100 will make purchases.  Without targeted visitors this conversion rate drops significantly.

Throughout this article you will encounter numerous ways to increase your web traffic. This traffic will be well targeted free leads, all through online marketing methods.

Do you like to be sold, or pushed into a sale? Like most the answer is a definitive NO. One of my mentors has instilled in me the importance of building relationships as apposed to selling someone. Once the person gets to know, like, and trust you they will be more willing to join you in your opportunity or buy product from you. Remember, know, like, trust, buy!

Free Traffic and Message Boards

Relating this principle to free internet marketing, I suggest you visit message boards. These boards are so effective that I still receive requests and referrals from posts made over a year ago. Visit various boards post messages, meet people, ask questions, share your wisdom, and words of encouragement.

Suggested tips to keep in mind when posting to message boards. Remember you are there to build relationships, you want people to know, like and trust you.

Do not spam:
  • do not post the same thing over and over
  • post something meaningful and relevant to the conversation
  • do not advertise unless otherwise specified
  • do not participate in negative postings about others (criticize or flame)
To make the most of message boards and insure highly targeted traffic to your website:
  • select boards that pertain to your product or opportunity
  • get your name out and popularity up, post a response to a question or simply post a question yourself
  • include a signature file with your name and URL, no email. This can be placed in the profile page. It is a good idea to set-up a second email because, you will get spam
  • spend one or two evenings a week posting on several different message boards
  • be genuine, helpful, and try to learn a few things
  • HAVE FUN and MAKE FRIENDS
Free Traffic and Traffic Generation Sites

Traffic generation sites can be good and bad.  Most are not worth your time, however, there are a few good ones, so choose with care. I recommend Traffic Swarm. This site is better than most because people select a site from a list in topics they have selected to view ads from. An ad is then chosen based on a tag line and a short description you have written. If the visitor wants credit for their selection you have their attention for a minimum of 20 seconds. After that they may click another site without penalty. Again this is that target traffic so necessary to success.

Finding an Effective and Affordable Web Site Promotion That Works

Anybody could own a web site. Anybody could up sell their own products and services to their target audience. Anyone could try to promote their web site with  low cost promotion. But there are not many web-masters that have a truly successful web site with traffic all day through. What these individuals or companies lack is the most essential factor of success – a low cost web site promotion that really works.

If you have been trying to promote your own web site and you have received traffic every hour, my hands are down for you. But for those people who need assistance, who does not have the patience to promote their own product and services, and lacks knowledge to properly advertise themselves, here are some guidelines to help you achieve success with a low cost web site promotion.

Search Engine Submission and Ranking are the two basic parts to a low cost web site promotion. Both of the parts have the same effect on the market of the web site – for your products and services presented in your web site catches the people’s attention.

The first inexpensive method of web site promotion is the search engine submission. This first part is the act of filing information and submitting your web site to search engines. There are two types of Search engine submission – manual and automatic. For a low cost and effective web site promotion, automatic submission is ideal because after filling up the information, a software program would forward this information to other search engines.

The second money-saving web site promotion is ranking.  This refers to the numerical position in which your web site appears on a search engine, based upon the web site’s criteria. Some search engines rank the order in which your search results appear primarily by how many other web sites link to each page. The leading web sites on this order would eventually fulfill a low cost web site promotion.

Other types of inexpensive web site promotion you could use to boost up traffic on your web site are banner advertising, classified ads, text links and section sponsorship. Banner advertisements pop up above and below web pages, and sometimes in another window. Text links and section sponsorship may cost more, but these methods helps in promoting to your specified target audience. It wouldn’t harm your web site to try these methods.

Always remember that the effects of your not so costly web site promotion hits are increasing significantly each day.  Don’t waste time; find an effective and affordable web site promotion of your choice today.

Don’t Make It Easy for Thieves to Access the Identity Information

Identity thieves will stop at nothing – not even the death of the intended victim – when it comes to stealing someone's personal information to commit fraud.

Crafty criminals look for personal details about the deceased in obituaries (in the newspaper or online), genealogy Web sites, death certificates and other sources. Armed with personal information – such as a full name, address and date of birth – an ID thief may be able to obtain a new Social Security card, a driver's license, or loans and credit cards, even though the victim is no longer alive.

FDIC Consumer News suggests that families consider the following actions after a loved one dies:

Limit the amount of personal information in obituaries. "It's a good idea to leave out the exact birth date of the deceased. If anything, provide only the birth year," said David Nelson, a fraud specialist in the FDIC's Financial Crimes Section.

Consider omitting a wife's maiden name because many financial institutions use a mother's maiden name as a security password. "If an obituary publicizes a woman's maiden name and lists her children, an identity thief may be able to use that and other information to order credit cards or otherwise go on a spending spree in the childrens' names," Nelson added.

Obtain several copies of the death certificate and then proceed to close bank, brokerage, credit card and other accounts as needed.

Ask your attorney or accountant for advice about closing and reopening accounts in survivors' names.

Also, quickly report the death to the fraud departments of all three major credit bureaus, which financial institutions rely on when handling credit applications, and the Social Security Administration.

"It's important to help prevent identity thieves from assuming the deceased person's identity before the estate is settled," explained Nelson. "Otherwise, there may be credit extended to the fraudsters that will need to be resolved before distributions can be made to heirs."

These thieves are the lowest of the low.  Targeting the deceased should be a crime punishable by death from one thousand slices of a very dull knife.

Don’t make it easy for these thieves to access the information.  It is not something that we think about during a time of grief, but in today's world, we have to always be on our toes.

How to Find a Good Web Designer?

This is the fourth of eight articles about website design. Our discussion will deal with some of the issues which need to be considered when developing a new online presence.  You may have already thought of some of these, but perhaps there are probably things which you haven’t even considered.

In the last article, we discussed domain name registration.

This week, we are going to start our search for a webmaster, aka "web designer."  Unless you are an accomplished programmer, you are going to have to spend some money at this point.

For example, is the server you are thinking about Linux/Apache or Windows based?  Will it support dynamic pages, or only static, and if they do support dynamic will they support both PHP as well as ASP?  Or do they stick to one flavor of dynamic.  If these terms mean nothing to you, you are going to need the services of a webmaster, and now is the time to bring one on board, either as a contractor, or as an employee.

Web designers tend to specialize, so don't feel like you need to get someone who is versed in every aspect of website design.

If you just want a basic HTML site then just about anyone with web design experience should be able to help, but please don't call cousin Sam who just took an intro course and the community college.  You want someone who knows something about business as well as websites, for you are building a business website.  If you are not going to take orders online, then a static site, primarily for image purposes, is a good way to start.

But if you need a dynamic database driven site, you will need someone who understands PHP and MySQL.  One who does ASP and Microsoft SQL may not be able to help, or perhaps they can.

There are many choices you can make here, but if cost is a major factor, stick with PHP, MySQL and some form of Linux.  You may not know what they are, but when I say that they are free to use, it may give you good reason to think that way.  And, believe it or not, there are A LOT of folks supporting these products for the good of the world, without pay.  In my opinion, MySQL rivals any database system in the world for almost any use, and it is totally free for you to use.  This is one time, my friend, that you get a lot more than you pay for!

The Yellow Pages are a good place to look for a designer.  The size of the ad may give you an idea of experience and cost.  A shop with many programmers is going to be more expensive, but may save money in the long run.  In any case, get several estimates.

A web designer should be able to build a mock ups, or rough demo, for you early on to give you an idea of what the site may look like.  They can put together some basic pages, add images and some generic text to give you a feel for the site.  Do not expect to see a final site before you fork over some cash.

There are generally two ways to pay for a project like this, either a flat fee or by the hour.  If you know precisely what you want, then go for a flat fee.  If you do that, however, do not expect to make a lot of changes or additions that you expect to be done at no cost.  You do not want to make your webmaster unhappy.

For most of us, an hourly based time and materials contract is best.  The designer can give you ball-park estimates and tell you what it will cost per hour for anything else.  And there will be changes, trust me.
Next time, we will talk about hosting your new site.

Marketing Your Website - Creating an Online Business

You are most likely coming here as a follow up to my Part 4 of 5 articles on creating an online business. I hope you found part (1) one through part (4) informative and helpful.

Today I am going to cover marketing your website.  You can have the best website in the world, but if you have no visitor then you make no money. Here are a few ways that you can get people to your site.

FREE:
  • Fliers
  • Business Cards
  • Bulletin Boards
  • Online Forums
  • Online FREE Classifieds
Paid Advertising:
  • (PPC) Paid Per Click Advertising
  • Ads in News papers
  • Radio / T.V. ads
  • Paid ads on web site that maintain a high level of traffic
  • Paid ads on search engines
Okay, now that I have shown you a few ways to advertise lets get you in the right mind set. You need to imagine the conversation that is going on in your potential customers head when they are coming to your site from any of the above techniques.  I am going to assume you are building a work at home directory site such as mine, but you can apply these techniques to any type of online business.

If for example they are looking for a Home Based Business then you will want to take them to your landing page for Home Based Businesses. You will have the directory for all of your sites at the top and sides sprinkled with other Work At Home, Online Paid Surveys, Rebate Processing and others, but 85% of your page should be Home Based Business Opportunities. It is important to have your best converting Home Based Businesses in the hot spots on your site. If you are going to have a newsletter, which is a great way to keep in touch with your customers, you should have that in a hot spot location. You want to take them directly to the specific things they are searching for. The more they have to search around the less likely you are to converting them into a customer. Even worse the less likely they will book mark you site for later usage.

Let's assume you are using (PPC) Paid Per Click advertising. This is where you will pay a search engine, for example, 18 cents to display your ad to anyone who types in the phrase     "work at home". It's very important to make the key word match the landing page. The next step is to ensure you the text on your web page ads reflect the product and / or service that they are going to be looking at. It makes no sense to send someone who is looking for paid surveys to a program that has absolutely nothing to do with paid surveys. Sure you will maybe get one customer out of 500, but that will more than likely cost you more than you will make. If a visitor likes your site he will look around on his own, but it builds confidence in your site if he is taken to what he expects to see.

There is so much to cover I am going to begin an advanced series, which I think will help clarify and fine-tune your site even further.

See you in the advances series!
