Dragons had been the stuff of lore for decades. Their existence was doubted until Merlin uncovered a fossilized egg and was able to hatch the first Dragonkin. Humans, threatened by their presence, tried to eliminate them. The Dragonkins, however, fought back. Eventually, the violent impulse of humanking resulted in their ultimate extinction. The Dragonkin however through their intelligence rebuilt civilization from the ground up and in their own image. What they built became known as Tareria.
