Promoting Your Affiliate Program on the Social Marketing Bandwagon

Magic Submitter
Have you ever considered conducting your affiliate marketing by using social marketing?

What you can do is participate on forums, post articles on free articles sites (like ezinearticles.com and so forth), even use Facebook (some of our affiliates make a lot of sales by communicating personally with people on Facebook and Myspace).

The cool thing about Facebook, Bebo, Myspace, and others is that these social networking sites have recently experienced explosive growth to the point where they have overtaken searches for naughty websites as the number one searched thing on the internet!

If you do decide to use any of these methods, and there are many other social marketing methods that you should explore, make sure that you do it in a genuine, non spammy way.

What I mean is, if you participate on forums, then PARTICIPATE. That means helping people with their dating problems, that means building up your profile and only market via subtle methods, such as through your signature (if your forum allows it), or through recommendations made at least a few months after you've first joined the forum so that you don't get kicked off for being a spammer.

Forum moderators and owners LOVE people who participate properly on their forums, and they'll forgive you for making a few recommendations here and there if you provide them and their other forum members with valuable contributions.

The great thing about facebook and myspace is, if you own your own website, you can put your facebook listing on your site and encourage visitors to add you to their facebook. You don't have to chat with them every day or anything. It doesn't have to be run in the same way you run your personal facebook account.

What it does mean is that if you ever send a message to anyone on your facebook account, you'll find that the message gets through a LOT more than email marketing gets through.

There are a lot of spam blockers around that stop your emails getting through. Facebook is pretty new, yet MILLIONS of people are on there every day and messages DO get through. So you may wish to add that to your strategy. It's an advanced idea with thinking about.

Also don't forget the benefit of posting articles.

If you want to submit a squidoo.com lens, or a free article to ezinearticles.com, you'll get 2 main benefits:

1)    More incoming links
2)    The article/lens itself may also rank well in the search engines and make affiliate commissions for you.

I hope that you enjoyed this article and gained some more ideas for your marketing.
