Rhyming for dollars

Did you know that the famous gummy bear manufacturer Haribo uses rhyming slogans in every country it sells in?

In the US and English-speaking countries, its...

"Kids and grown-ups love it so - the happy world of Haribo."

In French?

"Haribo, c'est beau la vie...pour les grands et les petits."

In Spanish?

"Haribo, dulces sabores...para pequenos y mayores."

Now, you might think that using a rhyming slogan is just a good way to get people to REMEMBER your slogan. And it's true. Rhyming is a powerful mnemonic device.

But, did you know that rhyming is also a powerful PROOF device?

As crazy as it sounds, people consider rhyming phrases to be more accurate and truthful than non-rhyming phrases.

A Lafeyette College study asked participants to rate the truthfulness of different phrases, like...

"Woes unite foes"...and "woes unite enemies."

By FAR, the rhyming phrases were judged to be more truthful.

And we judge rhyming phrases as more truthful SUBCONSCIOUSLY.

What does this have to do with your online success?
